removing front sight and bayonet mount from SKS.

I have an SKS which I want to streamline a bit by removing front sight and bayonet mount. I am not concerned about future value. Suggestions please.

I have my lug ground off and sometimes wish I didn't as several bipod mounts attach to the lug.
Depending on your stock you may want to fill in the bayonet slot with epoxy

If you look at where the front sight connects to, you can see it's actually a sleeve that is 1 piece with the bayonet lug that goes around the barrel. From what I can see, it looks like it's pinned on in 2 places only.

Not the best pic but this is without front sight post. Real easy to remove. 2 pins as you see and use a brass punch with the rifle in a vise.

I would lop off the bayonet mount but leave the front sight alone. Its a good idea to have a front sight in case the optics go for a sh!t.
