I'm looking for information on the best way to remove the front sight on a BSA rifle. Is this something I can do myself or is it best left for a gunsmith?
You have to determine if it is soft soldered or silver soldered... soft solder you can remove it with a propane torch ... Silver solder requires acetylene and a red hot sight...
In either case I think you would be best served by a gunsmith.
Y'know that BSA made a bunch of different rifles, with a bunch of different sights on them, eh? Some with screws, some with dovetails, some with solder.
If you ante up just a wee bit of information as to what you have, you will get a better answer.
Pictures even better!
