I've got some 8mm Lebel Revolver ammo that has been deactivated by drilling a hole in the brass case and removing the powder. I want to use them as snap caps in my french 1892 revolver and need advice how to safely neutralize the primers. I don't have a reloading setup to remove the bullet and then primer. Right now I'm thinking of gently poking a hole in the primer and pouring oil or vinegar into it to neutralize. Anyone can offer some advice?

Thanks for the responses. I don't know about firing them because 1) there's a hole in the side of the case and 2) I don't want to deal with a squib round in the barrel!!

Would firing on a primer alone be enough to eject the bullet? Especially on a non-air tight round?

Once it's in the cylinder I think it's so close to the cylinder wall it might be airtight and I think primers are enough to get the bullet out and into the barrel.. don't want to deal with that. Thx for the suggestion tho
