Removing rear sight boss on Husqvarna 46A?

Hey guys,

I recently shortened the barrel on my 46A and for another project, removed the front sight off of the barrel cut-off with a propane torch. I probably only heated it for a couple minutes and one tap with a hammer and the sight came off. Since I have a receiver sight on the gun now, the original rear sight is kind of an eye sore and doesn't serve a purpose.

I'm wondering if I can heat the rear sight and tap it off like I did the front sight? I wasn't too worried about overheating the barrel cut-off, but it didn't seem to get too hot. The cut-off didn't change colour at all when I heated it, so I think it would be safe (for the barrel) to remove the rear sight, but thought I'd ask first.



Any thoughts?

Use the same method you used on the front sight, they are only soft soldered on and the heat it takes to melt the solder will not affect the barrel.

Ive done them before Cory, heat it up and knock it off
