Hi all,

Got an old but very accurate Model 81 DL.
The cartridge guide spring (flat spring that is located in the barrel on top that pushes down the cartridge) broke.
I'm trying to get to it and thus separate the receiver and barrel and the barrel retaining pin is stuck in there pretty good so here are my questions.

1. If I'm able to remove that pin, does the receiver simply slide off the barrel?
2. Any good tricks you have for jammed pins?
3. Cycled a few 22LRs dummy rounds and they cycle fine (could be because the nose is more pointy than real 22LR bullets). Is that spring only needed when using 22 shorts?

Thanks,

Turns out the receiver is stuck and yes that spring is needed with a real bullet. The pin is out but the receiver is really jammed on the barrel.
Tried some release all, heat, hammer, it won't budge!!

I just want to make sure the barrel is not screwed to the receiver? Tried heat on the receiver and freezing the barrel??? I hold the barrel in a vise and using a piece of nylon for protection, I hit the receiver away from the barrel using a heavy hammer. Nothing budges.
