I am looking for the proper way to remove this rear folding sight, please help pointing me to the right direction!

Thank you!

Dean

Tap from the left to the right with a hard plastic punch, I have a brass punch as well but it leaves small marks, patience and repeated hits seems to work for the few I have done, it is almost the weekend so I am sure you will get some good tips and comments.

Drift out the blade left to right with a brass punch or screwdriver/chainsaw file with a spent 22 case on the end.

If I remember right from mine the base is soldered on. You will need to apply heat to remove it. There may be a screw under the flip up blade as well.

Judging by your other thread you want to put a rear peep on a scope base for some reason? You can always just flip the sight blade down if you are putting a scope on it.

No offence but if you are not comfortable with stuff like this ask a gunsmith. Better than messing it up if you don’t have the skills. But we do learn through doing. An in person mentor for stuff like this would be more helpful for most than CGN threads. There might be someone in your are who can help

Thanks a lot for your advice! I will think about it, to see if I need a gunsmith!

OP - I did remove both the front and rear sight on my Zastava - is marked on right side of barrel as LK M70 - but might not be the same as yours - it had two metric screws plus some sort of "glue" - not solder - holding my rear barrel sight in place. The front sight was not removed on purpose - I got sloppy for support - trying to tap out the front sight insert to install a fiber optic insert - from that dovetail - the whole front sight ramp came off - was a "top hat" shaped piece, mounted in very shallow dovetail, that the one screw under that front sight insert went into - and more "glue" between that ramp and the barrel. This rifle was bought new from store by me - August 2013.

I did drill and tap into rear of the rear scope base, and installed one of those old Redfield "flip up" aperture sights - why I wanted a front sight on barrel, but no rear sight on barrel. The rifle is chambered for 458 Win Mag - so if I can get that aperture "sighted in" perhaps 75 meters, will be fine.
