I don't own one of these but if it is a 14.7" barrel the flash hider is pinned and welded to meet the US 16" minimum barrel length.
Typically the pin is dropped in the hole and a small TIG weld is placed over it. US requirements specify that must be pinned and welded.
Grinding down the muzzle brake at the TIG weld should get you to the point where the pin can fall out.
A small 1/16"-1/8" carbide burr on a dremel can make quick work of this.
Once the pin is removed the brake can be unthreaded like any other.
its a 18.6" bbl... i guess they pin it to make it california legal since all their 18 inchers go there or here to Canada? my 556 nato 1/9 bbl wasnt though...
im planning on putting it on the milling machine tomorrow and plunging an endmill until that welds gone, then see how it goes from there.. id like to save the brake and not make it fugly
all the brakes ive made have had 0.025" bullet clearance so ill keep to the same theme ... ive read lots of guys just using 308 brakes on 6.8s but makes no difference to me
