Many Junk Yards have what looks like a oversize hydraulic chop shears. Perhaps you can talk them into cutting your Lead Bar for a few Bucks into manageable sizes.

easy way to cut large chunks of lead is with a hydrolic log splitter , can rent one from your local hardware store. or you can use a jack in a strong H fram press.
no mess, its fast easy, mo mess and no waste.
