Rempel Bipod?

I am going to be buying a Bipod before spring and am looking at a Rempel or a Dolphin Trakker . The reason I am looking at these two is the easy of height adjustment. Anyways I am wondering how hard it would be to make f-TR weight with a Rempel? My setup will be a Musgrave action, 28" Medium Palma Barrel, Aluminum one piece scope rail . Burris Signature Zee rings , Sightron 10-50 scope. It is in a solid wood stock.

Do you think I could make weight with this setup? What about if I went to a 30" medium palma or heavy palma down the road?

I thought, hey that looks like my table. And he has the exact same couch too. Wait a minute, that's my house. lol

Take the rifle down to the local post office in a case (not suggested in large cities) or during busy times. Ask them to weigh the case (with the rifle in it) Go out to your car and put the rifle in the trunk and take the case back in a weigh it again. That rifle should be around 12 lbs or under what the old TR weight was 12.5 lbs maybe. I know most Musgraves will make the 6.5 kg NRA UK weight limit with a 30" heavy Palma barrel on it.

The weight limit for F/TR is 18-lb 2.4oz. or 8.25 kg.
 
Remple is the heaviest and the best where weight is not a concern. also think about the French (Quebec) connection version over at star-shooter as they are really quite sturdy as well, then M Precision is light inexpensive and you can learn on it for now, when you buy or build a very serious competiiton rifle then move up if you wish, almost 2 different purposes. By this I mean the weight of your gun and scope can vary by almost 12 ounces by going to a sightron over a nightforce BR, see what I mean.

Weigh your rifle with everything on it except the bipod. Deduct that weight from 18.2 lbs and then you know exactly how much room you have left for a bipod.

I will weigh my rempel and post the weight for you later today. You can do the math and see if you come in under the limit.

If anyone here has a Dolphin maybe thay can post the actual weight for another comparison. you may not make weight with that either depending how heavy your rifle and scope turn out to be.
 
anotehr option is the EVO bipod, also from the UK.. It's a complete copy of the Rempel but weighs half as much. I think my EVo bipod is about 1.75 lbs whereas the Rempel is closer to 4 lbs with the adapter.
 
Dolphins trakker 2 bipod(the one with carbon fiber legs) at 390grams might be quite interesting.

Mine is just under 3#, but has been lightened a bit.

Nice thing about a Rempel bipod is that you'll never have any worries about it breaking - baggage handlers would be challenged to do it harm!
 
You will not be disappointed in the Star shooter.i have used Remple its a the Caddy of the bi-pods but its heavy, Sinclair is just okay but its really not close to remple or Star shooter



 
The EVO bipod is is a direct copy of Henry's design but made to weigh half as much. The EVO weighs in at 1.5 lbs compared to approximately 3.5 lbs for the Rempel. Adjustments are identical.
