Renaissance wax is used by armorers in museums to preserve old firearms, swords and armor from corrosion and fingerprints.

Anyone use it on your hunting rifles? How is it working for you?

I've been using Simoniz non-abrasive car wax on gune for years and it helped a lot. Then I discovered Boeshield and that goes on top of the wax.

Apaarently carnauba can become mildly acidic ove long periods of time. Now I'm going to drop the carnauba and go with the renaissance wax and the Boeshield.

I've used an old English mix for years, they referred to it as "no rust", it's a 50/50 mixture of vaseline and anhydrous lanolin.

They were right with the description, .....i've never seen rust on any metal treated with it!!
