How long can repackage bulk powder be stored in the plastic bag and cardboard box that it comes in? I purchase a fare sum of powder from Higginsons that is packaged in card board boxes. I need to know if the bag inside would deteriorate or if it is good indefinitely as long it's in a cool dry place. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

For convenience, I transfer it to powder bottles - properly labelled. Easier to handle 1lb bottles than bulk packs.

:agree: Ask around at local gun clubs. I'm sure many people would be happy to give you a few empty powder containers
(occasionally I even see them in the recycling boxes at my club). Just be sure to get true powder containers which are opaque and don't let in sunlight. Some types of plastic may also react with the contents so be sure the containers are specifically for smokeless powder.

Those boxes and bags are put into the trash every 1300rds or so. I doubt they will stick around long enough to decay :)

Happy loading....
