I have a Model 12 (1926 model IIRC) that has a fixed full choke.

The choke can not handle steel or slugs, and with no led allowed over water any more... the shotgun has been sidelined to clays and targets with led shot.

Can I get a replacement barrel for such a old model 12 that does not have a full choke. Choke inserts would be best.

Thanks!

You will come across used barrels with an Imp. Cyl or Mod choke but they are rather hard to find in Canada, a little easier to find in the USA but you have to get them imported and when it's all said and done it's roughly $100 on top of the actual barrel cost. The most cost effective solution is to have the barrel reamed out to a Light Modified constriction or have it threaded for choke tubes if the barrel is thick enough to allow it. You can shoot rifled slugs thru the Full choke without any worries as well as standard velocity (1450fps or less) steel loads up to and including #2 shot.
