Where can a person buy the full length butt stock to replace the original.in order to make this gun practical.thank you for any info.

There was one on here a while back that looked pretty good until a photo
of the tangs were shown and there was a pretty good gap in there.
Not sure what the heck was going on there?

I emember seeing a post that Rusty Wood Trading, one of the sponsors above sells full length stocks for the ranch hands

I got one from Rusty Woods Trading and put one one my 44 mag Ranch Hand. It's a Boyd's stock and does require a little bit of fitting, but I really liked it - especially for the price. I posted some pics on it here in this thread http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/1030758-Finally-got-around-to-putting-a-full-stock-on-my-Rossi-Ranch-Hand

What part of Alberta are you in? Prime Time in GP has them/ can get them. My local shop up here deals with the same wholesaler and got one for me. It is technically a replacement stock for a rossi 92. took a small amount of fitting. It works really nice.

Much more useful with the full length butt stock!

NAA.

Just bought a Ranch hand from the Canadaammo sale and I just realized that replacing the stock is definitely illegal with our damned Canadian firearms laws.

According to the Criminal Code, a prohibited firearm is:

a firearm that is adapted from a rifle or shotgun, whether by sawing, cutting or any other alteration, and that, as so adapted,
is less than 660 mm in length, or
is 660 mm or greater in length and has a barrel less than 457 mm in length.

I still plan on getting the rifle stock but I don't want to feel like holding a ticking time bomb every time I use this for predator defense so does anyone know get any trouble with their Ranch hands?

Are you meaning the second condition that after the alteration...660 total and 457 barrel?

I think I see what you mean, you did "any other alteration" and even though you are now longer then original you don't meet the 457mm barrel length requirement. I'm sure this must have been hashed out already and/or a call to the cfo made for clarification lol. You can rebarrel to any length (as long as you don't cut down a factory barrel) if you meet the overall length requirement so cant see this as an issue
