Replacement sights for a Glock 44. Has anyone attempted to replace theirs?

I looked through the threads on this subject and was unable to locate anything. I am wondering if any of you who own a Glock 44 have transitioned to after market sights. If so did you have any issues installing them or have any issues with the point of aim / point of impact? I really enjoy the gun but hate the crappy plastic sights. Due to the Glock 44 slide being polymer and the replacement sights having a metal dovetail I am worried about cracking the slide.

Buy sights specifically made for the 44 if you can fine any (apparently Dawson is making a set specific to the 44) , or find your sights height specs and match as close as possible, and you shouldn't have issues. There are many different height sights on the market and when you put something made for another model, they can be taller or shorter then the originals changing POI. I have experienced this on other model Glocks while trying different sight sets

From what I have read online someone had measured their front sight on their 44 at .1685 tall, and is running a Dawson .170 tall with no noticeable change. So getting as close to the same specs as the original sights should be your best chance at keeping your POI

Also guys suggest a "G- shim" under the front sight, it makes the contact point larger giving a better base for the front sight to sit on the plastic slide

Bad post...

Oops, I just realized that you wanted information on the 44 specifically. Sorry.

I’m currently running a Dawson fibre optic front sight because it was on the G44 when I bought it,,,and it sucks. Definitely not the right height, consistently 2” low at 10 yards. I have a Hi-Vis front on my AA .22 kit that I’m going to pop off and try on the G44 as soon as the damn range reopens from the flooding out here

Keep me posted on how it works out.

Had a chance to get out and try out the Hi-Vis front sight yesterday, with a slight adjustment to the rear sight to bring poi down slightly it is now bang on at 10 yards, quite happy with it now and getting some very nice groupings, great little .22 :)

The simplest remedy might be to leave the rear sight as it is and just replace the front sight with your front sight of choice.

For me, that necessarily means more narrow, black, serrated, and with a small, bright, fiber optic insert, such as the Heinie, or the Warren Sevigny.

I got to try out the Ameriglos. They seem zero'd fer 50yards, so they shoot high at 25. With glasses on, the front sight totally covers my 11" x 8" target papers. With out glasses, the sights slim down and is easier to place on target.

I've decided to glue a Venom Vortex on the slide. Will let yas know how that turns out.
