Replacement/spare parts to make the gun last a lifetime?

With the way of the world, I'm thinking I should be buying replacement parts for my pistols while I still can. Specifically for my Garrison 1911, 92FS, P320, and M&P 2.0.

What is eventually going to need to be replaced? Should I be buying extra springs, etc? If so, specifically what? And from where?

I've seen generic part kits from Brownells but don't know if that's the best course of action.

Thank you so much

Parts will last forever if you don't use the pistols. What kind of mileage are you expecting? And how much redundancy do you like? If you're a belt-and-suspenders kind of guy, the correct approach might be a complete replacement pistol. Since we can't buy complete pistols anymore, you might consider buying one from IRunGuns US (they'll strip the parts and send you everything but the frame).

And it depends on the specific pistol and expected mileage, but here's my general list in order of priority:

1. magazine and recoil springs
2. magazine bodies
3. extractor and extractor spring
4. all other springs
5. slide stop
6. firing pin / striker assembly
7. barrel
8. all other parts

Do a Google fu. Find yourself a range that allows shooting prohibited.

Pistol "freeze " is only the first bite. As a prohib, you will have no att to transport it or place to shoot. Wait until the %&%$ storm over C21 dies off, our fearless leaders will finish the job. One bite at a time.

My advice: as always, buy spare parts of all sorts AND many spare magazines for each one.
The models you mention should have parts available (in the USA) for a very long time, but maybe not in Kanada in the future.

I like how we are all optimistic that "they" will let us keep what we have to the point stock piling parts.

This current prime Minister "reported" net worth has gone from a few million pre covid, to nearly 100 million. He has filled the seats of the people around him with the same likeness. They are literally doing whatever they want, democracy doesn't exist.

I'll worry about parts once I get close to stock piling enough ammo/reloading components to actually break even one of my guns... let alone all of them. Not saying I don't believe in parts.... but we might all be well served with more ammo and magazines!

When you speak of "them letting us keep our property"...you lost me.
My property is mine and I'll own it as long as I feel like.

Same thing for each one of us. Except for perhaps the weakest of the weak, you are in control of your property, not "them".

Tell me you don't honestly believe this to be true, do you? Because it isn't, and it sounds absurd.
I mean, I hate JT as much as anyone, but that kind of rhetoric is laughable.

As for parts, buy as much as you can find now.

I don't think the Feds will stop the purchasing of them, but the amount of domestic suppliers will dwindle in the coming years and people will become increasingly reliant on sourcing from the states. And I imagine hang-ups and mistakes at the border will be common place by then. Save yourself a lot of stress, a lot of time, and lot of money by jumping on it now.

Yeah and the Vax is 100% stopping the virus.... who's laughing now?? The whole thing was the biggest scam in history.

It comes from a Forbes article, disappeared the article, some screen shots were saved. You have no idea the amount of corruption that is possible with this current government. you think that 100 million, or even half a billion is unrealistic? his wifes family handles all the money for the government weed transactions. Do you not remember the we charity scandle, snc lavlin? when serb alone has tens of billions going to "ineligible" accounts....

If you think a 100 million is an absurd amount to be made from directing public procurement of truly absurd 400 million dose contract ? And that contract being completely secret?

Did you follow the public order emergency act enquiry? He littleraly appointed a new security commissioner during the convoy, and she, having no security related work experience told him that they should use the act.... the whole thing is greased.

The only power to say no comes from the end of a gun bbl, and there's going to be more than a few pointing our way when it comes down to it. Or they will just give a list of names to the bank and shut us all down that way.... you know... to "avoid any violence"... state or citizen.

I'd love to hear of more domestic sources if anyone has any. I just got a big order from IRUNGUNS US, decent availability and really good pricing.

I just bought bits and pieces (mags, some recoil springs, etc) from IRUNGUNS (very good), Wolverine and double tap. It was really hard to score springs for CZ TS2. If anyone has better sources I would love to hear. Thanks in advance.
