I'm just wondering if a Ruger 77/22 (or any other standard bolt action 22 rifle)stock could be adapted to fit a Norinco FS 522 action?
 
Thought so. Did you see the post in the "Mods" thread by pilgrim? He put his 522 action into what I believe is a Walther (the OP wrote "Walter") pellet rifle stock and it looks outstanding. So I guess the short answer is, if you have the skill to do the work, any number of stocks could be made to fit. Have you ever seen any of the numerous posts by a guy calling himself "DEFCON" (try Googling the following: "DEFCON's .22LR Rifles")? He puts all different types of heavily modified air soft stocks on one or two different .22 rimfire actions to come up with some really wild creations. You are only limited by your skill level and your imagination.
