I am looking to upgrade my stock and found a number of sellers offering different stocks for the 700. Trouble is some sellers go beyond the normal model name to identify if the stock will fit. Example Hogue has stocks but have additional terms like "standard/heavy barrel" and "full bed/pillar bed/ block". How do I find out if my 700 has any of these features?? I'm fairly certain mine is a standard barrel. I didn't pay extra when I bought it, but what is the deal with the bed block . I have a Remington 700 SPS DM Long action (30-06).

yours is standard barrel, and you'll have to make sure the model is for one that takes a detach mag

as for the bedding block, they're ususally a chunk of aluminum in the stock to give a good stable platform for the action to rest in
