I was at the range today and the good news is my DA 556 is looking to be sub-MOA when I do my part. I only shot on the 50 yard target, using NATO surplus ammo, but when I was paying attention my shots were touching each other. I'll have to stop using the crappy iron sights and pop a scope on there to really see how it shoots.

But the grip was hurting my hand by the end of the day, and the stock is a little uncomfortable.

Can anyone tell me what I need to know before I replace these? Will just any AR grip go on? How about stocks - I heard it's a commercial buffer tube.

I don't know much, so a list of things you know can be slapped on would be great, or just the information I'll need to go find that for myself.

Thanks.

Any grip would do, Magpul MOE are a very economical way to go, Ergo and Houge are made from softer material, so they are comfortable.

Stocks as long as it us commercial spec it will fit the Norinco tube, Again Magpul offers more than few choices all at a reasonable price.

I've looked at some grips and they all appear to have more body to them than the one on my gun now. That's not an issue?

I'll be shopping soon so it's good to know the stock can be easily changed out

I have two DA556 rifles. The 14.5" rifle has a Hogue grip and the 20" rifle has a Magpul MIAD grip. The tube is commercial. I was able to replace all common parts with Magpul without any fitting issues although the handguard on the 20" rifle was a tight fit.

The MIAD fits the rifle great just make sure it fits your hand and you like the texture before you buy it...

I found the rear stock was very functional as is for transferring the noise of the pogo stick straight to my cheek bone and it makes a cool rattling noise when walking around hooked to a single point bungee... Unless your looking for a raised cheek piece or want to change colour or maybe you just like that cool Magpul logo I'd leave it as is and save my money for something really useful like a can of FDE paint or a half dozen mags.
