Quick question, I have a TRW trigger assembly, and wanted to replace my M305 trigger group. Is it as simple as swaping them over? do i need to get anything checked before firing (or is that only with replacing bolt ?)

thanks

Go right ahead and swap them. While you are at it, don't forget to grease the hammer nose, where the bolt rides back and cocks the hammer.

Also take a moment to inspect how the 1st stage and 2nd stage of the trigger pull operate. With the hammer FORWARD, apply a dab of grease to the inside of the hammer hooks that engage the sear. This will certainly smooth up your trigger pull. It will NOT lighten the pull.

While we are also yakking about the trigger, please don't take a file or india stone to your hammer / sear geometry since the heat treating is only a couple of thou (inches) deep and you might make your semi auto M14 into a rock and roll full auto.

Cheers all,
Barney

I have had no problems swapping in & out trigger groups.

Now when you say that, you mean that the hammer follows the bolt. Is there potential to fire out of battery? Whenever I hear this, I wonder if maybe having a full auto would be the least of your worries.
