Kind of looking for a bayonet to go with my Garand. The rifle is a top to bottom rebuild, so originality isn't really necessary.

I've been doing some quick searches and have come up with these repros at Tradeex

http://www.tradeexcanada.com/produits/83

Has anyone bought one that can comment on the quality?

It doesn't need to keep an edge and stab hay bales all day, but I'm hoping for something a step up from pot metal that at least looks and fits properly.

Any other suggestions welcome. I'm looking for WWII era blades, of course.

I've looked at these and they seem pretty cheesy compared to the real thing. You can still find the 10 inch blade WW2 variants for $100 or so. As long as the originals aren't badly pitted they can be re-parkerized and grips can be replaced. Original scabbards in good condition are getting hard to find.

Well, the scabbard isn't really important to me. Just need a blade that looks the part to display on the rifle. I can mooch around for a real one, but price will be an object if they go too far into the "or so" range that Purple mentioned

Fwiw that seller on eBay got back to me that he doesn't think it will fit on a rifle

Seems kind of silly to make a repro bayonet that isn't functional, but there you go

Think perhaps I will hold out for a real one, unless tradeex gives me a better answer. I expect theirs is the exact same item though
