In Chatham there's George Wortner of Wortner Gun Works. He's a great old Gent and has been a professional full time smith since the 1960's. I had work done by him before (repairs, hot bluing, custom trigger work, etc) and the end resault is always perfect. Give him a try, worth the drive, you'll see.

How far west? That's rather vague. There's a smithy at Shooter's Choice in Waterloo. Another at Goble's in London.
