Hi All,
Am hoping someone might have the time and patience to help me as I recently purchased a Lee Loadmaster (used) with 38 dies but unfortunately the Powder Through Die Expander/Insert piece (Lees part name is PM EXPAN PLG 38SP) was lost. The part only cost 3 bucks but I can't find anyone that carries it (I have ordered from LEE but it looks like it's going to take a long time). I just started PPC (i.e. need lots of ammo now) and without it I can't expand or drop powder (it lifts the powder assembly too).
I believe if someone could pop theirs out and provide me with measurements I could make one up to get by (till the LEE one shows in a month+) as I have a small lathe.
here's a link to a pic:

Main measurements I need:
1-Overall length
2-Diameter of large end
3-Diameter of small end
4-Length of small end to start of taper
helpful but not critical
5-hole diameter
6-length of large end to start of taper

Sorry for length, appreciate anyones effort very much (or even if you are aware of a place that has them).

Many Thx & Take Care

Lucky you my computer desk and loading bench are the same thing, and my .38 dies are in front of me as I type. You didn't specify units so I will work to my own convenience.

OAL 27.89mm

L Dia. 14.21

S Dia. 8.99

Short end 7.36

Hole at large end 11.28

Depth of large hole 11.06

Hole at small end 7.22

Long end 20.52

There really isn't a taper anywhere. The part is stepped from large diameter to small, inside and out. There is a generous bevel on the shoulder at the step, that's all.

Oh thank you, thank you, you are going to save me so much time n' headaches now.

An yes bevel is a better/proper description, I always get the wrong words in my head and go blank trying to think of the right way to describe things. I'm going to try to get started on making this now (if the power doesn't go out, big storm moving in), will let you know how it goes/much you helped me.

Again, Many , Many Thx,
A.B.Ames

P.S. as for units, i use both so often I didn't think about it..am always forgeting something, thx.

Many thx BattleRifle seems to work good now,
Also really appreciate the Large Hole depth measurement as I didn't realize thats one of the important ones as powder measure tube sits inside.

Again, Many thx
Take Care
