Hello;
Request for CGN community help with valuation
I am in possession of some firearms that used to belong to a friend, who unfortunately passed away recently. I am trying to establish a fair price for the firearms. I will eventually be selling them and passing on 100% of the money raised to my friends’ wife and teenage son.

Please do not contact me trying to buy these firearms. They are not for sale unless/until they are listed in the Equipment Exchange (some will be sold locally, some may stay in the family).

Unfortunately I know nothing about bolt action milsurp firearms. I have several Mauser action rifles and Enfield style rifles that I would like help valuing please.

Thanks in advance for you advice.

Sorry for your loss Tom E Gun. Humble opinion:
7) $250. If bore is excellent and bolt is matching, could get $300.
8) $150
9) $100 if bore is ok

1. 1908 Brazilian Mauser Sporter (originally 7mm Mauser) - $350

2. 1932 Czech Mauser (Model 98?) - $150

3. 1942 No4Mk1 Enfield - $350

4. 1940 BSA No1MkIII - $250

5. No4Mk1 Parts Gun - $150

These prices are just my opinion, if sold as a group, you’ll get less, try to maximize the $$ you’ll get for the widow.

Good Luck.

4. $300, it's been my experience that sportered Mausers sell quite well.

6. This is a tough one, a very rare rifle (Peruvian Modelo 1932 originally in 7.65x54) that has been buggered. Small ring 98, any chance of finding the bolt? With the bolt I think the action maybe $300, without it not sure it is worth postage, but I'd love to see photos of the markings.

7. $200-250

8. $150

9. $50

The, potential, value in the last three (Lee-Enfield sporters) is primarily based on if the serial numbers are matching, as well as if they have a full length barrel. If either is missing, the value starts to decline rapidly.

The first two are potential candidates for restoration (assuming matching numbers) as the barrels appear to be full length. Having said that, I wouldn't pay more than $200 for them, unless they are really in exceptional condition.

The last, well, it's a parts gun at best, although it looks to have a salvageable sight and possibly a full length barrel. Having said that, I've heard stories of it being an absolute nightmare to remove barrels from L-Es.

Barrel swaps on Lee-Enfields are INTERESTING but not necessarily a "nightmare"

You need a proper Action Wrench and a Barrel Vise with Rosin, Lead Pack and the proper-diameter aperture.

They tend to be difficult to unscrew, being locked in place by the original Proof round. When they let go (often with a Snipe and over 100 pounds of pull) there is an awful BANG!, followed by the barrel unscrewing easily.

Do it right, with the right tools, and you won't twist that Action!
