Does anyone have a September 1977 shooting times magazine?

I am hoping to get the article about the 8mm Rem Mag, as this was one of the first ones. Trying to collect history on this great cartridge. If you have any other historical information on the big 8 feel free to pass it along also.

Thanks!

The 8mm Gibbs is not, technically a magnum.

I have an 8mm Rem Mag, and I really like it.

It is a custom, built on a 700 action, with a
Benchmark barrel, Triggertech trigger and a
McMillan Hunter stock. It is very persuasive
in the field, with the 220 A-Frame starting
at barely shy of 3100 fps. I took a Bull Elk
with it last fall. 425 yards, he never went
10 feet. Reloder 26 is your friend, BTW.

To the O.P., I may have the article you are seeking
on a CD. I'll take a look. Dave.

Edit: It looks like the magazine may be available on E-Bay.

That the "Great 8" article? pretty sure I have a copy of that here somewhere. Great cartridge, if I was doomed to use one rifle for all my hunting, the big 8 would be it. - dan

Awesome chambering....w/ projectiles of magnum capabilities.
(NPartitions aren't the answer....either)

5 each Rem 700 8mm Rem Magnums on location from it's inception BDL in the 70's to a couple 700 Classics & a Custom Shop 700.

1 shooter w/ KDF brake installed 4 decades ago & other 4 have been cleaned/oiled/stored.

150gr spire points at <3500fps transforms the big 8mm into a plinker/varmint rig.

i do liked 200 grains/220 grais swift a frame if not wrong in the 8x68s of one of the hunter member of our hunter association in france and he used it a lot in poland as well on bigger red deer. but he told it did not work better than the 300 win mag but that was him.
