Hey gents, I've been looking @ optics for my AR and I've narrowed it down to three choices, the Elcan OS3 or OS4 or the Burris AR-556/332 does anyone have experience with these? (I've tried the Burris I'm just interested in your thoughts). The Burris is obviously the more cost effective option (249.00 for a display model up to 375+taxes new)I just have mixed feelings about the reticle I can't decide whether I really like it or not...seems kind of obstructive with it's size. Then there is the $900 Elcan OS3 or more expensive OS4, the newer Elcan's reputation speaks for itself & I won't say much on them as I have never used one. I realize you pay to play with optics but I'm not deploying to the sand box any time soon so it's mall cop combat effectiveness means little to me. What means a lot to me though is it's effectiveness in home defence and it's effectiveness in punching holes in paper. Your thoughts?
