Friday evening this gun was slated for destruction so I gave the owner a few bucks for what looked like a parts gun.The barrel was rusty and painted with the paint all chipped off,the bore looked like s**t and the stock was pretty sad and scratched up.
I brought it home to scavenge a part for my other 142 but decided to run my bore snake down the tube and to my surprise the bore was 100% mint. The before pics don't fo justice to just how bad it was.
So I decided to clean it up since these guns are great little shooters.

Here is what I started with friday night.

Saturday after noon, wood sanded ready for finishing and the action and barrel sanded and polished ready for bluing.

Today finished product.
5 coats of tru oil and several applications of Radocy bluing on the action, barrel and bolt handle/rear piece.I polished the bolt by hand just to clean it up. I still need to get the sling swivels one of which screws into the side of the butt stock and the other is a machine thread and goes on the bolt sticking out of the front of the fore stock.
I am very happy with the way it turned out, hope you enjoy it.
