hello all just looking for a little help. I want to resize my 30-06 brass to 270.
i was wondering if the way you resize brass is to run a 30-06 shell through my 270 sizing die?

Thanks C

"...will the shorter case harm the bore..." The closest the case comes to the bore is the chamber. Otherwise it doesn't touch it.
You'll have to ream the case neck, inside and out, when you neck down to .270.

Personally, I'd be finding someone that is willing to swap 30 06 brass for 270 brass, or going and buying myself a bunch of 270 brass. It is going to be short in the neck department, which in turn is going to do terrible things to your bullet when you fire it, and it is swaged into the gap between your case mouth and bore. One thing is for sure, you'll never have to trim it.

its not a need for brass i have lots of 270 brass, i have just been reading about alot of people doing this and i wanted to give it a try. i just wanted to make sure i was doing it right.

Thanks C

Sorry sunray, I've done it, you don't need to ream unless you have an exceptionally tight chamber..

The cases will eventually grow to length, if you get that many loads out of them.
