Resizing .308 Brass to .300 - Is a small base die really needed?

Hey guys, I'm looking to get into making .300 sav out of .308. I hear you should use a small base die during this process, but is this really needed? Would a Full Length die set (lee pacesetter) work just as well?

I never did. Try it without, see if the cases fit.

I have made a few using a standard Lee die, no issues.

YUP a standard die will do it.

Shouldn't be any problems I've converted 7.62 x 51 LC brass to 300 Sav. for use with cast bullet loads and it cycles fine and it last forever.
