Is the only difference between the 308 and the 7mm-08 the neck diameter? Is it as simple as putting 308 brass through a 7mm-08 die?

pretty much

but at the ease of finding virgin W-W or R-P 7-08 brass, why bother? unless you're set on using some match brass like Lapua

I have a set of 7mm/308 dies which used to belong to T.B. Dugelby (Ole Dom)
which he used to load for his Canadian made EM2.RCBS part number 55000.
If you have $ 50.00 plus shipping to you they are yours?? Dugelby books printed by Collector Grade Pubs.

I have thousands of 308 brass, and use them to form 7mm08. You get a slightly thicker neck (a good thing in most factory chambers), and maybe a very slightly longer case (but the specs for 7mm08 call for a longer case anyway).

So, yeah. All I ever do is run 308's thru the 7mm08 FL sizer, and I'm off to the races

Strange. I have used Winchester and remington 308 brass to form 7-08 only to find them a few thou short of the trim-to length of a 7-08?

It's not that much cooler up here..........:p
