just getting into reloading and wonder if I have to resize newbrass.... this is brandnew in the bag winchester brass.

or can I just prime it, charge it and then move on to seating the bullet ?

Hmmm, I am fairly new at reloading but I notice that when I reload new 45 colt brass with a Dillon 550 and Dillon dies there is quite a resistance on the resizing station. Although I do not use lubricant why would there be so much resistance if new brass did not require resizing.

Iguanafred...for your 270WSM I assume? - YOU MUST RESIZE. My new bag of Winchester brass had some case mouths that were oval. Doesn't cause any problems, but you must resize, then trim to lenght. As a matter of fact, I would also suggest that you categories your casing by weight (use a digital scale). Even though you have new brass, you should inspect closely for manufacturer's defects. Remember that it's your melon behind that cartridge, you can mnever be 2 safe. :)
