I have never resized or swaged bullets before.

I shoot a 9.3x62 and 35 Whelen rifle. I have a large stockpile of 250gr 9.3 accubonds and was wondering if it’s possible to size the accubond down to .358?

Will the white tips stay in place?

I use a Forster co-ax press. What dies would I look for if this is a realistic thing to try?

Would I use a .358 die or a .357 die because of spring back.

Any help would be appreciated. It seems like something neat to try if possible. A 250gr accubond in the Whelen could be a great bullet.

I mean... you could try some? If you do definitely let us know how it goes, because that's a tough jacket on those SOB's.

Personally, I'd keep the 9.3's for your 9.3 and buy some 358s. I know when I use premium bullets its because I need a F*&@# premium bullet, and I'm not sure I'd trust swaged ones.

Thanks for the input.
Figured I’d give it a try. It would be a tough bullet for the Whelen for sure but if it works it would open up some doors with the 9.3 232gr bullets.
Just need to figure out the tools to buy first.

Won’t be cheap, your co-ax won’t have enough leverage, I would just get a die from Corbin.
Get a nested die or they will come out crooked. I’m shocked no one hasn’t suggested stacking drill bushings yet.

i believe you can do about .021 or so reduction size. Try of course a few and see if the Bonded Jacket holds but it should. You need a flat or matching base punch, a tapered resizing open button push through type. Check Corbin Mfg for reccomended before ordering if possible. They will answer for sure and set you up if possible.

As for your Forster press; what size of dies does it use; 7/8" standard? 1"?

if 7/8" look at Corbin's S series i believe. 1" H series.
