I have seen worse shoot very well. I would shoot it and see what happens. People get too caught up on perfect bores. I have a 43 Mauser that the first 6” from the chamber is nasty but will cloverleaf 3 shots at 75 constantly.
Was thinking this also. Seems just in one area.I still say something was in the bore like a clog of spiderweb, an old patch etc. that trapped some moisture in that one spot.
FWIW cleaning up the bore doesn't really change the value of that rifle. Its just not in that good of condition.
