I have a research essay to write up for school and it being due shortly after Remembrance day I figured it would be fitting to do it on Canadian military history specifically the raid on Dieppe. I was wondering if anyone had any good links or books they might suggest I read through for help. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated :)

My work has published a book called Nine Hours—The Canadians at Dieppe: August 19, 1942 by William D. Matheson. I can send you a link, if you're interested.

I'd also recommend anything by Norm Christie. He has a documentary called Striking Back on the Knowledge network that is solely about the Dieppe raid.

I'd have to remember the books I've read about it. It's the senility I caught from my ma. Anyway, the Juno Beach Centre has some good info with a reading list on the first page. http://www.junobeach.org/e/2/can-eve-mob-die-e.htm

Hit your local public library too.
Served with a guy(He was the SO at the Cadet Corps) who walked off the beach with 8 bullet holes in him. One of 'em was a compound leg fracture. Johnny didn't know it until the MO on the ship asked him how he got off the beach. Told him he walked. Johnny was a short statured quiet guy and as tough as they come.

I recommend Dieppe: Tragedy to Triumph by Denis Whitaker and Shelagh Whitaker. This book explains the whole thing and who was responsible for the disaster better than anything else I have found.

Remembered one book title, but not the author. Green Beach. Not much about the battle, but lots about the commando raid on a radar installation. Talked a bit about the involvment of U.S. Army Rangers too.
Did a quick search of London's PL. Thirty-one books with the word 'Dieppe' in the title.
