Hi everyone,

I'm wondering about people's recommendations for rests. I've been looking at a Caldwell Rock BR. Does anyone have any experience with this unit? Any recommendations for something in a similar price range?

I don't want to spend a fortune, but would like something I won't grow out of any time soon. FWIW I'm currently using one of those red plastic MTM rests, and it's really only good for holding your rifle while you work on it.

I'm planning on using this with my 16" 452 American, and my Weatherby 30-06.

Thanks so much,
Cal.

I bought a Rock BR rest a few years back and it works ok. My only real complaint is that there is some backlash in the windage adjustment. It's not a huge deal if you're only using it to plink at the range but I would never compete with it because it slows me down to much when shooting bench rest. The included bag sucks too but that can easily be replaced with a nice leather bag of your choice. There really isn't anything else that is any better in that price range. My advice to buy the best rest you can afford. Nothing is more expensive then buying cheap ####!

I have the Stoney Point Markman's shooting bag, really love it. It's like having a vise holding the front of your rifle.
