If you can get your hands on a big jug of USGI WW2 bore cleaner it's exactly what you need. I picked up a few 1 gallon jugs back when it was cheap and plentiful.

The stuff washes the corrosive salts off wonderfully (it's water based) and leaves a thin coat of oil when it evaporates. The oil is only good for a couple of days but if you are shooting it that often, it's perfect for your needs.

So using this stuff you could use corrosive and not clean for at least 30 days in any type of weather?

That's impressive, was that with an SKS or other? If an SKS how many rounds do you put through it before she wears out?

Not sure how long until a SKS wears out but one of mine (CHinese) has over 20K rounds through it and needed a new trigger group (because it was slam firing) at about 17K rounds and just broke the recoil spring now (at about 20K rounds)

The trigger group/sear might have been fixable but a new trigger group is only $45....

The receiver and barrel seem fine though.

I think Windex works to dissolve the corrosive salts also and it's cheap. You just need to dry it out after and apply oil

Oh, I know how to clean after corrosive, that's not an issue. It's the frequency. I don't want to clean before I hit at least 1000 rounds. It's easier to just use non corrosive ammo. :)
