My father has had his LE since the early 60's. It was my first hunting rifle and it claimed a few deer. Figure it's been shot ~100 times since he bought it. Savage No4 Mk1 no star, uncut barrel, original sights, no electro pencil, numbers match except mag, butt stock (heavily sanded round lower grip) and plate are orig but Sporterized. He carried it all over the arctic when he was doing his Geology Master's.

I had a chance to revisit it over Xmas and had the idea of putting it back to stock as a surprise for him. It doesn't need to be perfect but if I can I'd like to use Savage parts. If worth doing, worth doing right. Being a Savage, lots of parts available in the U.S. But getting them here is obviously a problem.

I guess this is my long winded attempt at asking if anyone knows Canadian sources for Savage LE parts... So anyone?

I'm not afraid to throw money at it but if it will end up getting silly maybe I should be looking for a nice Long Branch for him and his arctic gun can remain as his memories.

Thanks, and Cheers!

Had Nick at Vulcan Gun Refinishing do my father's LE no. 4 Mk. I and SA M1 Garand. Cost a pretty penny and took a few months but Nick's work is meticulous;
first class. No reservations in recommending him.
