Stock has been cut down a wee bit, Bolts been crudely blued and the front and rear sight have been filed down for visibility. The sporterization of the rifle isn't terribly harsh, but its created a small list of parts that i'm going to need to bring it back to its former glory.

I'm trying to source the following:

Whole stock
Front stock band
Front and Rear Sight (With inserts for radium.)

I've been poking around the net without much luck, and i've phoned Liberty Tree militaria without much luck either. (Too Canadian to buy from them apparently!)

If you guys know anyone, or any place that may have these parts, that would be great. Any tips would be appreciated as well!

Hey, thats a start.

Thanks a lot! I'll get one of those ordered. Just digging through other forums as we speak to see if there are any berthier sale threads.

I was also lucky as the gentleman at the store, when I called in person, had an original front band retaining spring as well. He may have another if you ask.

Think I'd consider extending the existing stock back to the original contour, might be easier than sourcing a new one. ;)

Grizz

I was actually considering doing this. There has been a number of arsenal repairs done to it already it looks like, so doing another wouldn't look too out of place.

Anyone have any idea what kind of wood was used for these stocks?
