restoring old SKS sling

The sling I got with my SKS appears to be original, but unfortunately all the metal has begun to corrode. Has anyone been successful at removing the corrosion without damaging the material?

I've always had good luck with a small wire brush if there's any surface rust on them.

CLP and steel wool. I used it on guns and everything, Its amazing. I have tried other oils and cleaners but none compare when cleaning rust and corrosion. Also if its seriouse, Try vinegar soak over night, It shouldn't harm the fabric and the smell goes away when it dries.

I should add CLP cleans out a rusty bore in no time with a brush.

Unless its a 1st model cavas with leather tab, its just a regular sks/ak sling...
