Restricted Makarov?

Would it be possible for a gunsmith to make up a longer barrel for a Makarov and sell it as a restricted only. Just a thought but also making it 9x19mm might be beneficial too as long as the recoil isn't too much for that small slide. Has anyone done this?

9x19 won't work too much pressure. Makarov is a blowback 9x19 needs locked action. I would love to get one restricted with canadian lenght barrel

they made one is 9x19(very rare)...and they are a ##### to shoot and yes it was still a blowback

If you want to make it restricted, a good way to go is to have a longer .380 barrel installed on the frame.

There used to be already made barrels for this but they are probably gone by now.

a while ago i saw one for sale on the EE. had an extended barrel and if i remember correctly it was chambered in .380 auto. I think it was listed for $800 or so

the 380 idea sounds good still easy to find and less recoil than 9x19

Had the barrel replaced with the longer one in same caliber 9x18 on my Makarov by smith and reclassified it to restricted.
