I want to get a CZ858 and I'm not sure which one to get. I Have an argument to get the restricted because when I bought my Norc AKS it was non-restricted, then it went restricted and then prohib and i still had the stupid 19" barrel. So the way I figure it, it will be only a matter of time before all CZ858's are restricted and if thats the case I may as well have a 15" barrel.

Any thoughts

If you're going to think that way there's no point to buying either.

There's no legal way for them to become restricted other than by Order-in-Council or changes to the Firearms Act. If the gov't of the day is going to do that, what makes you think they won't just prohibit all versions?

Besides, you're just one Liberal majority away from losing all your semi-autos and handguns already.

the AKS/AK has nothing in common with the VZ/CZ858 other than similar outward appearance .

i wouldnt worry about the classification .

I know it has nothing in common, but tell that to your gun grabbing Libtard, my point is if some day they decide to make all CZ858's restricted then I would rather have the 15" barrel version. Thats all. Does that make any sense ?

Both 7.62x39, both com. block rifles. Both commercial versions of full auto military weapons. I would say with the topic at hand, they have more in common than some would have you believe. That being said I don't think they will go after the 858 just yet...

If the LGR was gone I would buy the Non-Resticted version, but it looks like the LGR is here to stay until the CPC gets a majority.

the only advantage of the restricted version is that it has a chrome lined barrel, which is exactly the same one used with the full auto recievers of the vz58's. it is much better as it is more resistant to corrosion, as you will most likely be shooting 100's if not 1000's of corrosive 7.62x39. I also think it looks cooler and it makes a nice range toy.

nonsense.

from your argument is 1. its the ammo but the ammo are used by SKS and other hunting rifles. 2. commie country but the FN/FAL isnt from a commie countries and yet its prohib. 3. commercial version so that will include the tavor and the AR and not just the VZ58.

AKS/AK are prohib by name and just bcos the VZ58 uses the same ammo, comes from former commie country and a commercial version still wont make it a AK variant so it wont follow the same path.

Accuracy wise get the non restricted one. For looks get restricted. Stop worrying about restrictions . Just don't vote Liberals again go Conservative.
