couple really quick easy questions here.

if I purchase a restricted from a dealer online for example marstar, they ship it to my house I assume it goes to the post office not to your mailbox correct?

If it is at the post office i understand you need a Statt to bring it home from the post office but how do you secure it ? or is it deamed secure since it in a sealed box that is easily broken into (Sarcastic remark)

If I shipped it to my office is that allowed instead then it is delivered here? I assume i would then need an STATT to take it from my office to home or is this a no no cant do that against the rules?

thanks

its a package until you open it.. and most dealers won't ship to another address only the one listed on your PAL...

you don't know whats in it until you open it, and its still legally in transit until you open it if not than canada post would have to get an att and all that snazz. but don't worry about the st-att.

if your not home they'll leave the tag at your door... i usually just get the shipper to select card for pick up so i can just pick it up at the post office the same day(local one is open until 8)

Hello,

I have bought a couple restricted firearms online and they go to the post office. I have never gotten a ATT to transport it from the post office to my house. As far as I am concerned it is just a parcel that I am taking home to find out what is inside. The people at the post office dont need one to transport it....why should I.

Not saying what I do is right, its just what I do.

I don't think most stores would ship to addresses other than what's on your PAL, so you probably can't get it delivered to your office.

Just get a satt if you live far away from the post office. takes 5 minutes and can save you potential headaches if you somehow get pulled over by the cops for whatever reason, or if you somehow get into any fender benders while driving... s**t happens, do you best to prevent it from getting worse.

That's how I'd do it, but I know there are folks here that would stick to the "I don't know what's in the package" mentality, which technically is correct but... why risk it.

because i get alot of packages as i bought alot of parts for my car..

so should i get a ST-ATT every time i get a tag from the post office saying to pick up a package? im sure after the third time it was not the firearm there the CFO would tell me to f**k off..

then again thats one way to piss them off enough that they might change there policy or make a new one inregards to shipping firearms and att's

Ok thanks for the info was just checking. I didnt think they would ship to my office but wanted to check.

as for att I would pretty much know what it is i dont get a lot of packages only bills. And doesnt it cover a specific time frame so you can get it and wait or is it like when you get the door knocker you order it the next day?

My recent post office pick up in ON:

I called in for my statt the same day I got the notice left on my door. There was no doubt in my mind what the package contained, I was glued to the crappy Canada Post tracking waiting for it.

It took like 30 seconds to do. They gave me the att number over the phone, and I was on my way to pick it up.

its legally correct, you don't know whats in it because its not marked firearm/stealme lol..

Maybe that comes down to your CFO, in NS, you DO need an ATT to pick it up from the post office. I usually just wait for the package at home on the day it's supposed to be delivered.

If you do have to pick it up, it takes a few minutes to call your CFO, so do it, it's a hassle, but not that much of a hassle, and it's better than getting ####ed over with some rotten luck the once in a blue moon it happens, then losing all of your goodies.

in this case ignorance is legal.

what if my mother picked up or signed for the package is she now in illegal possession of a firearm?

no, because its a still a package, until its opened.
