Well, our F-Class "exclusive" match has come and gone and exceeded all expectations for enthusiastic particpation! To think that we even faced cancellation due to low numbers!
Well that certainly wasn't our problem this weekend! We had a total of 40 shooters on hand for this match, and I could not have been more thrilled at the participation by new shooters. It is even more interesting to note that we managed these sorts of numbers even with a significant number of "regulars" away for hunting season.
Saturday was almost perfect for the two relays at 300M. Denis Lapierre shot a perfect possible 75-15V
The wind picked up slightly for the latter part of the day with about 2-3 MOA of wind at 500M.
The crew of target pullers was superb, and represented the best I have ever had at a match. Their efficiency allowed us to finish 7 relays in plenty of time to shoot our fun team match. Particpants were allowed to form groups of 4 shooters, and each shooter shot 10 rounds for score. There were 5 teams participating, and I was thrilled to "coach" our team to 1st place199/200 with 23V's. Of course, guess who was the only shooter to drop a point?!?!
Sunday was all shot at 500, and conditions were sligthly trickier. A few points dropped along the way, but our own Tack-243 "Bucky" nailed the Sunday Agg with 150 - 21V, shooting in only his first season.
When the dust settled and the scores were added up, the top match scores were as follows: (out of a possible 375 - 75V)
Benchrest...
1st - Wendy Hiller.........373-52V
2nd - Jim Jardine...........370-42V
3rd - Mick McPhee..........368-26V
FTR
1st - Marlin Katchmar.....371-43V
2nd - Caroline Chupa......365-32V
3rd - Darcy Spenst..........364-46V
F-Open
1st - Ian Hames.............374-50v
2nd - Denis lapierre........373-55V
3rd - Ron Hiller...............372-45v
The First Place winners in each category have their names put on the Doug Fraser memorial Trophy, which was presented by his son Steve, who is himself an FTR shooter.
We have used to proceeds from the team shoot entry fees and these will be applied towards the Canadian National F-Class team fundraiser, and between donations entry fees and the profits from our Concession, we will be forwarding approximately $425 to our National F-Class team.

Cheers,
Ian
