Retailer asking for PLACE of birth?

As far as I know, it is a standard question, online, on the phone or in person. It is required information when a merchant accesses the PAL database.

im just curious... if a (extremely practicing) muslim girl born in canada, wants a RPAL , whill she be allowed to wear her niqab on the picture ?

(im aware of the forum rules, im not putting in a remark that is intended to be offensive, just asking a question)

Thank you all, especially to the store owners & staff who replied. That makes me a lot more comfortable releasing my info. Yes it was done online, and the counterman printed me out the transfer paper.

@kingcobra, I can't find anything on Google during a brief search on that. A lot about a woman who claimed she was abused as a child and wanted to wear her traditional face coverings in court. It was denied, overturned by Superior, and overturned again on appeal. I didn't find a conclusion in that case either.... perhaps start an off-topic thread?
