Reticle Disappears

I'm new to shooting with a scope. I've looked thru scopes extensively being a surveyor. Never had a problem there with parallax or the reticle.

I mounted a Nightforce 12-42x56 scope with a CH-3 reticle. I focused the reticle in as per the instructions. The reticle looks clear and sharp but after 10+ seconds it disappears on me. My wife has no problems seeing it.

Anyone know how I can fix this?

Re focus it. You focused while staring at it. As you re-focus, look away for a few seconds and then glance at reticle. When you focus, aim scope at sky, so you see nothing except the reticle.
