I'm curious about what people think of the G3 reticle on the Bushnell DMRII-i scope. I like the idea of a fully-illuminated tree reticle since from my testing it makes it a lot easier to see the reticle when looking at dark low-contrast targets.
Currently I'm running .223 Rem and .308 Win, and after running the ballistics it seems to me that there's not quite enough windage in the "christmas tree" of the G3 reticle. For both cartridges, it seems like a full wind of 10mph results in a POA that is just outside of the edge of the "christmas tree" even when using high-BC match bullets, and is off into unmarked space when using less slippery bullets.
Am I smoking crack here, or is a reticle with a wider pattern like the Horus or the Vortex EBR-2C necessary if you're going to hold for elevation and wind?
