Retumbo

8mm ARP

Suitable in "overbore" cartridges like all of those suggested. I too have achieved higher velocity with both RL22 and RL25, but have witnessed better temperature consistency with Retumbo (and H1000). I intentionally do up my max loads in the heat of summer because of the wild variations in pressure you can see with powders between -30 and +30 C.

I use it for the 300 Rum and the 338 Tomahawk ( 338 Rum IMP ) H-1000 will give close to same velocities as will RL 25 but I find Retumbo gives a more accurate load with less pressure signs

I used it in my 7saum with 175 gr. Noslers

I might even try it in my 6.5 Panther with 142's (if I can fit enough of it in! - RL25 worked good in my last 260 with 140's)

Thanx for the feedback guys. I'd planned on using Retumbo when I work up loads for my TRG-42 .338LM. From what I've read here it seems like a reasonable choice. I had heard that because it is so slow, I may have secondary pressure concerns with the TRG's longish barrel. We'll see.
