Review of Daggar SAP6 and Tactical Imports

Just received mine and out to the range last night. Ran flawlessly, small and large mags and mix of different shells from different suppliers. Impressed by how it handles. Mags are a little stiff but it's new. Will see how it holds up. Much better than the UTAS that I had. Next up to test will be the 18 inch barrel and chokes.

To date, I have put over 3000 rounds for trap loads through mine, 100 rounds of Slugs, and 100 rounds of 3" #4 hevi shot .

No malfunctions from the gun unless I short stroke it. As well, I have noticed the extractor ramp in the barrel is not particulary well cut or finished. A Flat file and some fine emery cloth fixed that up, and the gun runs sweet with high or low brass.

I highly recommend this shotgun, but I will say it takes some smarts to overcome some issues. The chamber is a little rough, extractor cut not well finished, and loctite needed to hold the rail, but these issues are minor in a 699.00 gun and only take an hour of your time to make perfect.

These are not 5000.00 Brownings or Berettas. There level of fit and finish I believe is pretty darn good for the minimal cost of these. I read the complaints, and laugh a little. Seriously these are great guns, some require a little TLC, some do not.

A word on mag fitment. Load your mags, then sit in front of the TV and insert them and take them out 100 times to get a wear pattern on them. Then take the emery cloth and polish down to the metal. Makes engaging the mags much easier.

All in all, a very good shotgun.

That makes one of us. I'm so very glad and PROUD to say I'm no longer a SAP6 owner.

Over on this thread, I said:
Shot my today and having a few issues:

1. Buttstock screw into the receiver keeps backing out so must find a split lockwasher & add a dab of 222 Locktite on the screw
2. Screws from top rail becoming loose so I'm going to drill and tap 2 more screws then once again 222 Locktite
3. Trigger group pins are drifting out with the front pin very loose. Need to find some kind of replacements with captive ends (anybody else?)
4. Winter shooting with gloves on, am finding front pump is too slippery as my hand was slipping. Need to sort out the grip surface to be more aggressive.
5. Safety is tough to engage so need to research the upgrade.

I'm still short stroking so that means more time on the range.
