Hello,

I have narrowed by purchase decision down to the Sig Sauer P226 Tactical Operations and the CZ 75 SP-01 SHADOW.

I know the P226 is the primary choice for Special Forces like Joint Task Force 2 (JTF2) and the Navy Seals, but the price is higher than the CZ.

I know the CZ is the primary choice for IPSC shooters and the price is lower than the SIG.

Is the SIG P226 build better than the CZ, reflecting the higher cost?

What are you fellows recommending?

In addition, where is the best place to buy the SIG P226 Tactical Operations online in Canada?

Are there any extra accessory features you would recommend for either handgun?

Thank you,

TDM

Can't go wrong with either IMHO. I say go with what's most readily available right now, and what you can afford. Honestly you'll end up with both anyways ;). But if both are readily available try to see if there are any gun stores near you where you can handle both. One might fit better than the other.

Both are excellent guns.
I've started with CZ... Haven't shot it in over 5 years, completely converted to SIG. Not because it is necessary a better gun, but it feel better to me, the ergonomics and in particular the grip. Of note, I am not a big fan of the E2 grip but again, a personal thing.

Bottom line: if you can't shoot them, at least handle them and take the one that has the better feel for you. Both are great choice

Get the sig out of pure boredom from seeing everybody with the CZ. I guess it is a good representation of the quality of a CZ but it gets tiring hearing about everyones opionion on this gun. I have a SIG 226platinum in 40 and love it. You will find you might appreciate the sig more as it is a little bit more elusive at the range that the CZ. Just my $.02

Both are good but the CZ is alot cheaper in price.

CZ is just as good as SIG in quality if not better so do not let the lower price foul you. Now you must ask your self, do you want a SA/DA with saftey or SA/DA with decock?

SIG is a better SA/DA with decock and the CZ is better if you want a SA/DA with safety

In all honesty I bought a 226 tactical online for my first sig, without even shooting or handling it just because it was a great deal. I immediately fell in love with it as soon as I got it in my hands and to the range. Everything was so smooth and refined, and still is even 1200 rounds later. It is going to be one of those pistols that I'm never going to get rid of, just because of how well it was made and how reliable it's been.

best of luck coming to a decision.
