I need a clay target thrower. Using the hand-held ones are just not cutting it.

My problem is I'm a super-cheapo. Being a student means funds are tight.

Amazon sells one for like $45 and everywhere else sells a cheap one for like $60.

Has anyone used one of these cheap throwers? Are they a perfect example of you-get-what-you-pay-for or are they serviceable machines for someone who cant really afford anything better?

I dont need to hear about how a $200+ machine is way better cause thats just not happening. I'll be sticking to the hand-held throwers if the sub-$100 ones are totally worthless.

Went through two throwers in 2 months between three shooters. The do all called it quotes after about 500 clays, then the champion. Champion still works but not that great. The best one has been the Trius two bird. Adjustable distance, throws the farthest and gives a nice spread for pairs.

Got a do all from cabelas with stand for about $75. Works great but the pegs won't hold it down had to put a cinder block in it. But other than that it's good

They tend to toss ok but they will move around if you can't stabilize it. When the ground is frozen its impossible to dig in however for any handyman you can make a base for it where you can add a sandbag or brick for weight.

my Uncle built a mount to go in the stake pocket of his pickup truck, put a crate of birds on the tail gate and fun for hours.
