reviews on Mossberg 802

Hello. I m interested in the Mossberg 802 and wanted to know what owners or past owners thought of them. I ve searched here and previous questions have not had any replies. Does that mean they are unpopular?

More non-existent than unpopular, I think. I've got an 802 myself, and it's seriously the only one of its kind that I've ever seen out in the wild. The things just don't seem to exist out in the real world.

It's a decent little plinker, right about what you'd expect, for the money. Certainly no CZ or Anschutz, but then, it's not claiming to be.

I have mine with the 'sportster' stock. It's got a pistol grip, a large cutaway to reduce weight, and a built-in rail at the front of the stock for bipods/whatever has a rail mount. The iron sights have been good for me. Fairly precise for being an inexpensive and relatively short gun. Haven't had any problems with it.

The 802 is a .22 lr rifle. Most certainly not a shotgun.
